How does Training Help?

Finance team members normally know what their day to day responsibilities are in regards to their work.  The Finance team is often a very busy team, but are they busy doing the RIGHT things?

It is important for fresh ideas and ‘new ways of working’ to be considered to create a high performing team.  With manageable amounts of training, staff can feel valued and more empowered to carry out their work. Taking time out to train staff means they can gain new skills and it is often an opportunity to challenge the way they currently perform their role.

I have managed Finance Teams in large organisations and I have lectured on Finance at a Tertiary Institute.  I understand the need to be commercial, but I also understand there are times when a team need to STOP what they are doing and RETHINK why they do it that way.

The training provided by RESET is not about 'how to do financial accounting', it is ultimately aimed at empowering team members to work together in the most efficient way.  No finance team is too small to train.  I provide training in your office and provide flexibility to suit the needs of your organisation.

Examples of training topics include:

  • How to get the best out of the finance team

  • How to identify work tasks you perform that are no longer relevant

  • How to communicate within your team and to others in the organisation

  • Time management

  • Accounting for non-accountants (for non-finance staff)

  • How to lead a team (for team leaders - delegation, supervision, motivation and performance monitoring)

How Much Time is Involved?

This all depends on you, your business needs and the support your Finance team requires.

While we do offer all day training, we often find that shorter, tailored training session are more effective as participants are not overwhelmed with too much information.  Focusing on specific topics or areas of improvement can have a more lasting effect.  By providing 2-3hr training sessions, your staff have less disruption and time away from their work.
